Shop Small advocate Seth Piccirillo is working with LiveNF and regional developers to reimagine vacant spaces and support micro-businesses. Piccirillo is a co-founder of the LiveNF Makers Market, a biannual event that brings regional makers together for a unique shopping experience. The Makers Market started in vacant store fronts in 2017 will 50 vendors, and has grown into a major component of the annual Jingle Falls celebration. The goal is to connect makers with customers, in the hopes that bricks and mortar stores are motivated by pop up events.
The LiveNF Makers market is a celebration, of creativity featuring 120+ artisans/vendors, local musical guests, live art and maker workshops for kids. Piccirillo has employed the tactical urbanism approach to community engagement throughout his career, and the Makers Market signals a clear win. Over 3,000 people attended the 2019 Makers Market in December, with two more planned for 2020. More information about the market, and other ongoing pop up opportunities, is available at www.livenf.com.
